I stumbled upon these 3 posters in the Degree shop, a Singapore based curated storefront. What a unique story! The artist behind the posters has been leaving sticky notes around Singapore and other places. They even have their own blog. Now, the notes have been compiled together to make these cool posters. Check out the sayings. Is there one that resonated with you? They may seem a little cliche, but basic truisms usually are. Doesn’t make them less true, not one bit.

Co-founders Grey Crawford and Meghan Beierle-O’Brien have created a very robust magazine with Toujours. It’s full of the latest & greatest art, travel, books, food, entertaining, interiors and lifestyle. I really enjoy the layout and the superb photography. You can subscribe to Toujours Magazine on their website and on Issuu. Contact them and connect on Facebook & Twitter. They have a great blog, too.

Of course, whenever I see a magazine like this, I wonder what I can do to help get some of the artists that I feature on these pages. We need more handmade artists in every design magazine, digital or print. What do you think?

Here’s a treat for you: an April calendar. You can download a copy here.

I am a huge fan of the cool graphics of the Yumalum shop. Don’t be fooled by other shops that feature similar artwork. Yumalum prints on high-quality heavyweight 180gsm matte paper on an Epson 7800 printer using Epson Ultrachrome K3 ink for a very long lasting life. That’s a lot of tech talk, but it makes a HUGE difference. Excellent quality, superb graphics & fantastic prices? Yes! Would you like to win this swank Coffee O’Clock print? This 11.6 x 16.5 inches, Catherineholm print can be yours if you do the following:

1. Leave us a comment below telling us what else you love in the Yumalum shop

2. Get an extra entry if you like Yumalum on Facebook (Leave a second comment below letting us know you did)

3. Add one more entry if you follow the shop on Twitter (Ditto)

We’ll pick a winner at random Monday at 5:00 p.m. PST. This contest is open all of our readers. Happy Friday & thanks you Yumalum!

{We have a winner: S. Newman! Congrats!}

Bold graphics with a touch of whimsy, Mengsel is a great find. The masterwork of Luzelle van der Westhuizen, Mengsel is the Dutch and Afrikaans word for mixture. It’s a fitting name. Luzelle has successfully blended the organic flow of Africa with the modern vibe of Scandinavia. Now that’s talented!

Shanna Murray works from a place that appears to be The Land of Effortless Simplicity. Her sublime collection of decals are as inspiring as they are ingenious. Her easy to install decals are sure to inspire creative days and restful nights. Click here to find out how to install them.

I love when an artist thinks of every detail. Shanna not only creates splendid decals, but her packaging and branding are truly wonderful.

I would definitely recommend signing up for her newsletter. I am keenly looking forward to her Spring collection. In the meantime, check out here collaboration with another artist that you’ll be seeing around here: Herriott Grace. Say hello to Shanna via Twitter or Facebook and follow her blog.

Are you a fan of biking? Love good graphics? Then you’ll find the perfect marriage of both over at 100 Copies. The brainchild of Singapore Creative Director Thomas Yang, 100 Copies combines two of his passions – bicycles and art – into original designs created by him and are limited to, as the name suggests, 100 copies. Each piece of work is watermarked, labeled with the title and edition number. As such, no two copies are ever completely identical. A perfect gift for the 2 wheeler in your life.

Here’s 5 posters from Villa Wuller to get you moving. The lullaby poster is my favorite. What’s yours?

Here’s a novel way to keep track of your feelings: a Life Calendar from those crafty folks over at Brigada Creativa. Life Calendars is a series of a different calendars which highlights an aspect of life. “How was your day?” is the first of the serie. The 365 days are represented by an emoticon that you have to draw as the day has gone: very good, good, regular, bad, very bad. I think it would be a great way to let people know how you are feeling, without saying a word. I love this thing so much, I want to buy one and give it away to one of you. Learn how to enter my little contest below.

Here’s how to get one: leave a comment here telling me why you need this cool calendar. Then follow Brigada Creativa on Twitter. Once I get 53 comments and they get 53 new followers (which will take them to 450), I will pick one of you to win the calendar. Pretty easy stuff. Let’s show these guys the power of the handmade lovin’ community. Rock on!

Mill Co is the brainchild of Claire Martin & Liz Birkbeck. What they do and who they stand for falls right in step with what we do here at IAMTHELAB. Based in London’s East End, they’ve created an agency that works hard to help independent creatives. They have a great shop full of amazing art from their roster of artists. I will be adding a trip to London’s East End to my European adventure…some day!

Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook. Make sure to tell them you saw them here.

THINGS THAT SING is a fun collection of prints & products created by Melissa Alaverdy. Her collection can best be described in her words: “Most of the motifs have been inspired by and adapted from archaic to pre-20th century tribal & folk artefacts – with an emphasis on the diversity and timelessness of native voices and innate style. Whether the inspiration is a detail from a Siberian carp skin coat, a pattern on an African dance shield or a medieval faience bowl from Persia, each print has A STORY TO TELL which you can read about here. Some prints have words, a quote or proverb – things that repeat and resonate, but don’t tire.”

I love these 9 prints. I like my inspiration with a heavy dose of humor. Check out her blog here. Be sure to follow her on Twitter and let her know you saw her here. Scroll down to the end for one more goodie…
