I love it when an artist takes a timeless medium, like these handmade embroidery hoops from Islay’s Terrace, and puts a modern spin to them. The masterwork of Jillian Audrey, these hoops feature some really great designs and would look great alone or in a collage of art. Definitely worth a second look.
Jillian’s designs are pretty eclectic, and little wonder. Besides being a master crafter, she is also a writer, photographer, food lover and book lover. When you interest vary this much, you are bound to create in a variety of styles. Thankfully, Jillian does it all so very well.
One other thing: her shop is named after her beloved Russian Blue cat, who in turn is named after a Scottish island that is famous for its very smoky scotch.
