LAB News & Notes:

View-From-The-Desktop copy 2

Hi gang! Just wanted to drop a note about some happenings around the LAB. It’s been a busy week here and I still have a ton to do. I’m so glad that I’ve gotten my crazy (and sometimes procrastinatin’) self into the habit of writing stuff down. What would I do without my pen and paper?

So, did you see the refresh of Project ICANDOIT365? I’ve gotten a few nibbles so far. I’m really hoping that more of you can jump in with us. Project ICANDOIT365 has the potential to be a really great and easy way to get some fresh fodder for your blogs. Why not  jump in today?

Also, thanks to some great insights with a few very talented creative thinkers, the Blog Blitz has been re-imagined as a way to increase the exposure of some very deserving artists. Claire over at Embergrass (whose having a killer sale in her Etsy shop) has already started her first Blitz, this one features the fantastic designs of Nangijala Jewelry. I love finding new artists and it would be true to my mission to see more of you bloggers share the handmade love around the web. Learn more about the Blog Blitz here.

The LAB Winter Pop Up Shop was a ton of fun. We had close to 5000 hits to the shop for the month that the shop was active. It got me wondering if I should keep the shop alive. Based on feedback from the artists, I think I will. More details will emerge on Monday, but I think I’m going to set up the shop for 3 month increments and pick a theme for each edition. This Winter/Spring 2013 edition will have the theme…you’ll just have to see on Monday!

Lastly, here are a few websites being added to my Link Love page. It’s a great mix of handmakers and journals that are must-reads for 2013.

That’s what’s happening around the LAB. What’s going on with you? Got any big plans for your shops and blogs for 2013. If you leave a comment here, I’ll be sure to drop a comment or two myself.

TTYL – Brett
