About the maker: “The Stowe was created by Molly Spittal as an extension of her love for working with leather. Inspired by traditional craftsmanship and simple, clean silhouettes, our leather goods are made to compliment your daily. We design and produce all of our products in Montreal, Canada.”
I generally start with a small detail in mind. Something that could set the piece apart from anything else I’ve seen. The rest builds from there. I do all pattern drafting and prototyping in house and I’ve seen a lot of flops, but those only lead to a better more rounded final product. – Molly Spittal, re: the creative process
Handcrafted from start to finish in Montreal, Quebec. The Stowe is understated, hard-wearing luxury for the every day. Made by hand piece by piece, every item is individual and will be loved for years to come.
“There was a time, not so long ago, when Molly Spittal’s life felt like a giant puzzle—with one piece missing. She had gone to fashion school in Vancouver, had worked for various designers, and had considered starting her own apparel line, but, as she says, “It just never felt right.”
All it took was one crappy accessory for everything to fall into place.”

“Inspiration can come from anywhere, at any moment. I always have a notebook handy to jot down ideas and shapes. I edit down all these ideas into a cohesive family of bags and do all pattern drafting and prototyping in my studio. Then everything goes to my wonderful production team where they counter-sample and, eventually, produce the finished product.”
