I have been eagerly awaiting the launch of Ursula Wurster’s Midnight Collective for awhile now. The teasers on Instagram have kept me in anticipation, so I’m thrilled to introduce you to this exciting brand. It’s almost the understatement of the year to describe the branding for Midnight Collective as minimal. It’s as stark and clean as the soaps, salts and essential waters that Ursula has so meticulously designed.
I had to do a little sleuthing to pull some details together, which was quite a delightful journey. (How did I miss Johan on my last trip to Portland? Shame!) For instance, I’ve discovered that Midnight Collective has already been featured in on of my favorite magazines, Monocle. You can add Vogue Paris to that list as well. This collection is not all pretty packaging. According to the Portland Monthly (did you read it?), Ursula “has studied the power of herbalism for nearly a decade, and has been making her own natural beauty products and fragrances for even longer.” Harnessing that power into refined and natural personal care products is no easy task.
She mentions in the article that she “get joy from experimenting with curious combinations of natural elements, and I’m constantly amazed by their power to awaken the senses, activate the imagination, and transform otherwise ordinary experiences.” This experimentation has helped her create an incredible collection, like the pure Oregon peppermint and French Green Clay she uses in her Wild Mint & Fern Botanical Soap. Be sure to head over to the Midnight Collective shop and pick up a few items for yourself.
Used them already? Let us know what you think in the comments below. If you’d like to find Midnight Collective locally, check out her stockist. (For all you raw foodists out there, Ursula’s Pinterst, besides being organized to the nines, has a great board with raw food recipes, etc. I needed this.)
