You know, when I asked Geri Jewitt to join me for a week of blogging, I never imagined just how fortunate I’d be. She even brings the fab graphics!

When we discussed focusing on handmade weddings, it only seemed natural that we turned our attention to our fellow Oh My! Handmade Goodness pals. What’s a conversation about perfect handmade wedding accessories without mentioning the uber-talented Allisa Jacobs? Here’s what Geri has to say about Allisa:
“I came across Allisa from the wonderful community of Oh My! Handmade Goodness. She makes beautiful handmade clutches, pouches, organizers & cosmetic bags for everyday as well as weddings. She’s been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Simply Living Magazine and her custom initial bridesmaid clutches were proudly featured in Etsy’s inaugural wedding in New York City.
Allisa doesn’t settle for “ok”… she meticulously offers double-stitching as standard, she adds special material inside to ensure strength & endurance, she sources materials of the highest quality & many of her design details are often overlooked at first but are such a welcome surprise! I love that she’s been able to create her handmade biz while caring for her child at home & as she says, she’s “not a factory.”; she creates the majority of her bags from sketch to completion, often with some of her own fabric designs. Plus, she’s super nice. And down-to-earth. And oh-so-talented!”
Here are a few items that Geri loves from Allisa’s shop:

What I really love about Allisa’s work is her backstory. Her search for the right bag to take with me to a friend’s wedding left her wanting, so she took matters into her own hands. She went from designing her own clutch to having folks stop her on the street to ask about her creations.
Knowing that she has indeed stumbled upon a goldmine, she added to her knowledge by taking a handbag design courses from an incredible handbag designer in Boston. Now, she gets to design her high quality bags from the comfort of her own home. Isn’t that the handmaker dream come true? Here are a few items from her shop that caught my eye:
